Jun Doi is a calligrapher based in Tokyo, Japan. The origin of Jun’s calligraphy expression is ancient characters. However, it is not just a revival of the characters of ancient characters but also the ancient oracle bones characters express life and heart, the inner world of Jun Doi. Alongside Jun’s calligraphy, A thousand origami cranes made by school children and people in Orkney will be displayed. In the project “Cranes for Ukraine,” people wished for world peace by making thousands of cranes following a Japanese legend. A donation box for Ukraine will be set at the gallery. Origami experience will be available at the gallery.
